Companies that insist on hand-written job applications run the risk of being prosecuted, according to recruitment expert Michael Evans, author of Employing People with Disabilities, published by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. Evans says asking for hand-written replies may fall foul of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA), which outlaws larger companiesí refusal to take on or retain people on the grounds of disability.
