Routeways.com, the only employment information portal for Coventry and Warwickshire, has signed a contract with a New Deal Partnership to feature the career profiles of 300 New Deal clients, exposing them to thousands of potential employers in the area.
The website provides jobseekers and employers with the latest news, information and guidance on local employment and training issues. A pocket-sized directory, ërouteways to workí, is due to be published later this year to complement the site.
Project manager for routeways.com, Phil Davis, commented: ìGiven the current recruitment shortages being experienced by many employers in Coventry and Warwickshire, the profiles will highlight an easily accessible pool of available labour with a wide range of skills and experience.î Phil added: ìAlthough New Deal clients have been out of work for 18 months or more, all of them can offer valuable experience of the workplace, and many have recently updated their skills and qualificationsî.
ìJust as New Deal has supported them and improved their chances of competing for jobs, it also offers additional support to the companies who are interested in recruiting them.î
The package of support includes worktrials and work placements at no cost, subsidies of up to 26 weeks for employers, and help towards the cost of providing the individual with tools, work clothes and transport. For over 50s an additional grant is available to help towards the cost of further training.
