A report on the UK online recruitment industry published today confirmed that collectively the 100 top UK job sites had over 9 million CVs registered with them at the end of December 2003. According to David Hurst, publisher of the Top 100 online recruitment sites report 2004, this is a record for the UK.
Hurst continues ëIn the same month sites advertised some 650,000 jobs. There has been consolidation in the market with larger sites growing and some smaller ones falling away. However we are seeing plenty of activity from industry-specific sites like Eteach.com, the education recruitment website and efinancialcareers.com.í
ëWe feel that, especially with the NHS developing its own job website, the percentage of jobs filled via online advertising will rise from its estimated 35% to 50% by the end of 2004.í
