SHL Group plc appoints new non-executive chairman

SHL Group plc has announced the appointment of its new
non-executive Chairman, David Best, with immediate effect.

Mr Best FCA CPA, aged 53, has extensive business experience as an executive and non-executive director. He has managed businesses in the UK, US, Asia Pacific and Europe, primarily in professional services, during periods of
rapid expansion as well as in maturing markets. Mr Best became a non-executive Director of SHL in September 2002.

Mr Best started his career at Deloitte & Touche in 1970 moving to the USA with them in 1976. In 1982 he moved into industry at HPI Healthcare Services Inc. and then Lockheed Martin Corporation before returning to the UK with Lucas Management Systems Ltd. in 1989. Between 1993 and 1999, Mr
Best was a senior executive with Xansa (formerly FI Group) plc during a period of rapid growth.

Mr Best has held a number of non-executive directorships, including currently:
* Eckoh Technologies plc, Chairman.
* Britannic Smaller Companies Investment Trust, Director.
He succeeds Neville Bain who retired as Chairman earlier this year.

brand and talented workforce. As someone who has been responsible for human resource functions, I understand the benefits and value of objective assessment in employee selection and development.


My objective is to work alongside the executive management to build on the strengths of the business by focusing on its strategic direction and performance. In addition, I will be addressing the issues raised by shareholders over the past twelve months. These include ensuring higher
level psychology and human resource input to the Board.
