The US platform is opening early access for employers, combining video profiles with tools for external recruitment, internal development and future talent pipelines.

bSEEN has launched early access to a video-first talent discovery platform designed to help employers learn more about candidates before deciding whom to interview.

Announced in Green Bay, Wisconsin, on 29 September, the platform centres on 60-second video introductions in which users describe their experience, achievements and the contribution they could make to an organisation.

Beyond the CV

Employers can browse and compare video profiles on web or mobile, track engagement and request additional videos. The company says the approach is designed to add context beyond job titles and keywords, including for students and recent graduates with limited work histories.

“Employers are getting more applications, but that does not necessarily make it easier to find the perfect talent match.”

Portia Van Drisse, founder and CEO of bSEEN

Van Drisse said the platform was built to make talent discovery more personal and give people another way to tell their professional story.

Internal development as well as hiring

The platform also supports internal mobility. Departments can post projects as development opportunities, enabling employees elsewhere in the organisation to apply for stretch assignments.

HR teams, talent acquisition leaders and managers can use customisable Talent Tracks to organise internal and external candidates into relevant pipelines, including potential future hires.

Early access

bSEEN says job seekers, students and employees can use the platform free of charge. Employers joining early access receive 60 days free, after which they can choose whether to continue on a paid plan.

For recruitment teams, the launch adds another option for gathering candidate information before interview. Any evaluation of video-led hiring should consider consistent assessment criteria, accessibility and alternatives for candidates who cannot use the format.
