The Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo) has announced the appointment of five new Sector Group Chairpersons.
APSCo’s Sector Group meeting programme exists for nine professional recruitment sectors; Education, Engineering, Finance, IT, M Squared (Marketing and creative), Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences, RPO, R2R and Social Work. They provide senior personnel from member companies with a valuable opportunity to hear the views of industry experts, discuss key topics and issues that are relevant to their sector and network with colleagues in the same sector. The Chairs are instrumental in driving agenda content to ensure it remains relevant and topical to their group which in turn delivers quality meetings with appeal to members. Furthermore, they are influential in ensuring the sense of community and engagement that has become a distinctive feature of APSCo membership.
Yvette Cleland, CEO of Clinical Professionals, has joined Matt Beedle, Team Leader at Non-Stop Pharma, as co-chair of the Pharma & Life Sciences Sector Group. Matt formally introduced Yvette at this group’s last meeting, where Yvette made an immediate positive impact both through the benefit of her experience and contacts. Matt and Yvette have some exciting plans for 2016 meetings.
Lee Brammer, Managing Director of Celsian Education, has stepped up to chair the Education Sector Group, a position formally held by Eddie Austin, Managing Director at Sugarman Education. Lee remains a passionate member of this group and together with his Co-Chair Lorna Harvey of The Education Network, looks set to ensure the 2016 agendas continue to tackle a number of the key issues affecting this sector.
Derek Scott, Managing Director of Project Resource and Ed Stevens, Co-Founder & Managing Director of Eximius have been appointed as co-chairs of the Engineering Sector Group, replacing Stephen Rookes, Group Commercial & Legal Director at NES Global Talent. Derek and Ed bring a wealth of knowledge, enthusiasm and a number of new ideas to build on the good work of Stephen Rookes and are keen to unite the London and Manchester community of this group.
Niomi Cowling, Senior Marketing Executive, Sphere Digital Recruitment, has been appointed as Co-Chair of the Marketing Forum. She will work alongside Anna Gibbons, Corporate Communications Director, Sellick Partnership Limited. Niomi, in her opening speech to the group, demonstrated much passion and enthusiasm for both marketing and the recruitment profession and a strong desire to build a real team feel amongst the APSCo Marketing Forum community.
