Keynote Details and Bios:
Helmut Schmidt, former Chancellor of Germany
Born in 1918 in Hamburg, Germany, Helmut Schmidt started his military service in 1937 where he later became Lieutenant. Towards the end of the Second World War, he was captured by the British Army and detained in Yabbecke, Belgium. By October 1969, Helmut Schmidt had become Minister of Defense and went on to become Minister of Economy and Finance and was the second man in the Brandt Cabinet. When Bundeskanzler Brandt resigned in 1974 as Head of Government, Helmut Schmidt was elected as the 5th Head of Government (Bundeskanzler) of the Federal Republic of Germany and remained in office until 1986, however, his worldwide activities as a Statesman continued. His views on foreign and economic policies are renowned, sought after and published worldwide. In May 1983, Helmut Schmidt had found an ideal platform for his publishing activities when he became Co-Publisher of Die Zeit, Germany's most prestigious weekly newspaper covering political, economic and cultural issues.

Benazir Bhutto, former Prime Minister of Pakistan
Sworn in as Prime Minister of Pakistan she became the first woman to head the government of an Islamic State. In the preceding decade of political struggle, Ms. Bhutto was arrested on numerous occasions; in all she spent nearly 6 years either in prison or under detention for her dedicated leadership of the then opposition Pakistan Peoples Party. Since assuming the office of Prime Minister, Benazir Bhutto has emphasized the need to heal past wounds and to put an end to the divisions in Pakistani society - including reducing discrimination between men and women. Ms. Bhutto has launched a nationwide program of health and education reform. She is the author of Foreign Policy in Perspective (1978) and her autobiography, Daughter of Destiny (1989). She received the Bruno Kreisky Award for Human Rights in 1988 and the Honorary Phi Beta Kappa Award from Radcliffe in 1989. After completing her early education in Pakistan, she attended Radcliffe College and Oxford University. As well as obtaining a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics, she also completed a course in International Law and Diplomacy at Oxford.

Barry Gibbons, former CEO of Burger King

Ken Robinson, Senior Advisor to the President, J. Paul Getty Center
Dr. Robinson is an internationally recognized expert in the development of creativity, innovation and human resources. He is currently the Senior Advisor to the President of the J. Paul Getty Center in Los Angeles, and was previously Professor of Education at Warwick University in the UK. Dr Robinson's vision and expertise is sought by public and commercial organizations throughout the world and by a range of governments including Great Britain, Northern Ireland, Singapore and Hong Kong. His latest book Out of Our Minds was published in March 2001 and was described by Director Magazine as ìA truly mind-opening analysis of why we don't get the best out of people in a time of punishing change.î He is also in demand as an inspirational speaker with a unique talent for conveying a profoundly serious message with enormous humor, passion and wit.

Marshall Goldsmith, Author and World-renowned Coaching Guru
A world authority in helping successful leaders achieve positive, measurable change in behavior for themselves, their people and their teams. He is profiled in Harvard Business Review, The New Yorker and The Wall Street Journal and ranked as one of the top executive educators and coaches in the world. He is also a best selling author with over 15 books to his credit. As well, he is a member of the Board of the Peter Drucker Foundation and the Josephson Institute for Ethics. He has advisory board or partnership relationships with Andersen Consulting, Lucent, Provant and Forum.

Jean-Francois Manzoni, Associate Professor of Management
Jean-Franois Manzoni is the Associate Professor of Management at INSEAD, where he also directs the INSEAD-PwC Research Initiative on High Performance Organizations. His research, teaching and consulting activities are focused on the management of change at the individual and organizational levels. At the organizational level, he studies the content of change, the management of the change process and the role of leaders therein. At the individual level, he studies how leaders can create a high performance climate by supporting learning and encouraging autonomy, and what they can do to modify their leadership style in that direction. He recently published The Set-Up to Fail Syndrome: How Good Managers Cause Great People to Fail (Harvard Business School Press, 2002, with Jean-Louis Barsoux). A three-time winner of the Outstanding Teacher Award in the INSEAD MBA programme, Jean-Franois has also received awards for his research and case-writing activities, including two European Foundation for Management Development Case of the Year Awards.

Dr. Fons Trompenaars, Managing Director of Trompenaars Hampden-Turner Intercultural Management Consulting
Dr. Fons Trompenaars is the Managing Director of Trompenaars Hampden-Turner Intercultural Management Consulting (previously known as the Centre for International Business Studies/CIBS) and is a visiting professor for the international MBA Programme at the Erasmus University ñ Rotterdam School of Management. He is the author of the book ëRiding the Waves of Culture - Understanding Cultural Diversity in Businessí(1993). This highly acclaimed book is described as a masterpiece about intercultural management in the emerging global village. His presentations and seminars on cross-cultural management have empowered organizations throughout the business world.

Anita Roddick, Founder, The Body Shop
Anita Roddick ranks alongside Richard Branson as one of the most prominent entrepreneurs in the UK. She opened the first branch of The Body Shop in Brighton in 1976, and went on to create one of the most outstanding retail successes of the last two decades, which many others have tried to emulate. The Body Shop, a naturally based cosmetics company, now has over 2,000 stores serving some 77 million customers in 52 different markets across 25 difference time zones. The drive and vision of Anita Roddick is the cornerstone of the organization.
