VideoRecruit, the job portal that puts video at the heart of the recruitment process, has launched two new services for job seekers.  1. A free online video interview service and 2. the option for candidates to create a password protected CV URL have been developed. These new services help candidates prepare for face-to-face interviews and maximise the interactivity of their Curriculum Vitae, thereby boosting their online profile even further.

VideoRecruit candidates are being offered the opportunity to prepare an interview, for free, lasting anything from 3-15 minutes, to help job seekers build confidence both on camera and in preparation for a formal interview environment. VideoRecruit’s professional online video interviewers prepare and take candidates through a series of general questions tailored to their specific career field. The aim is to encourage confidence when talking on camera and show applicants how easy video interviewing can be.  “It’s an ideal opportunity to showcase the personality, professionalism and confidence of candidates in an interview scenario to potential employers, boost their online presence and help ease nerves ahead of a face-to-face interview” says Simon Thompson, CEO of VideoRecuit.

In support of the growing level of profiling facilities now available on VideoRecruit, candidates can also now create their own online password protected CV and send out a URL link to it, eradicating the need to attach a word document or PDF.  This not only helps to improve web visibility with recruiters, but enables candidates to create and manage changes to their fully interactive CV from anywhere, and update it any time to keep employers up to date.  This also means that anyone who has received the link in the past will be able to access a real-time updated version, whereas paper CVs become out of date very quickly.  Candidates can incorporate everything into their online CV including video introductions, skills, portfolio items, video references, and interviews, without the hindrance of sending large data files.

Mr Thompson continues: “We’re constantly working on new ways to improve our service offering and give registered candidates the very best tools available to be seen by potential employers. These additional free services will give those who make use of them a distinct advantage, showcasing their forward-thinking and proactive approach to job-hunting.”

The latest advances in the functionality of the VideoRecruit site, coupled with its rapid international expansion, have resulted in the site being shortlisted for the ONREC 2015 Technical Innovation Award for the second year in a row. The winners will be announced on 19th March at The Grange St Pauls Hotel, London.
