Cordant People launches in Scotland to meet growing jobs demand

Offices now open in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee, Livingston and Stirling – Aberdeen and Inverness to follow

Cordant People, part of nationwide recruitment giant, Cordant Recruitment, has officially opened for business in Scotland to meet the growing jobs demand across the country.  The company has just opened offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee, Livingston and Stirling with sites in Aberdeen and Inverness to follow in the coming months.

The company specialises in general staffing recruitment and is looking to recruit a total of 58 staff across its newly opened offices to fill an increasing number of client job vacancies in temporary and permanent roles.

Parent company, Cordant Recruitment, also operates a growing number of contracts in Scotland for nationwide companies such as Amazon, Lloyds Banking Group and Tesco, which are driving additional local jobs demand for Cordant People.

James Orr, Operations Director, Cordant People Scotland, has been appointed to establish the new offices and put the company on the map.  James has over 14 years’ experience in recruitment across a number of roles and specialises in multi-sector recruitment, including the commercial, industrial, call centre and financial sectors.

Says James: “Cordant People’s Scottish presence across these key new locations will enable us to offer a local service to local businesses and also meet the demand from nationwide contracts running in Scotland.

“This is especially exciting time to be in recruitment.  We’re seeing a number of trends, in particular a rising demand in permanent vacancies – and as well as a particular jobs growth in the food & drink, construction, financial services and tourism sectors.  We’ve got some fantastic industries in Scotland, from the very modern such as life sciences, to the traditional, such as textiles.

“We really want to get to know as many local employers and job seekers as possible, so do come and visit us at your local office, or give us a call.”

Cordant People’s rise in job vacancies is also demonstrated by the most recent set of figures from The Office for National Statistics (ONS), which showed the highest jobs figure on record for Scotland and unemployment at its lowest level since 2009.
