IET Re-Launches Engineering & Technology Jobs

Adicio Inc., the leading provider of interactive classified advertising software solutions for media companies, today announced that their client, The Institution of Engineering and Technology, has re-launched their jobs site in the United Kingdom

The IET (www.theiet.org) is one of the world’s leading professional societies for the engineering and technology community, with more than 150,000 members in 127 countries and offices in Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific.

Engineering & Technology Jobs was first launched in January 2007, with the drop in print revenue during the past several years combined with the continuous rise in digital spend, The Institution of Engineering and Technology realized the time was right to fully develop a job board that could be placed at the very core of its engineering and technology clients’ recruitment strategy.

The main goals for the site redesign were to: improve access – from search engines and from the main IET website; improve the user experience – for both job seekers and recruiters; give E&TJ a recognisable ‘brand’ – to enable clear and easy market recognition; and create packages and prices ideally suited to the buying habits of recruiters – and match and improve upon those of their competitors.

The IET was able to achieve this by: determining a clear strategy and re-launch schedule (and sticking to it); using experts in the field – Enhance Media is a leading London, UK-based organisation with a long and successful history in maximising online opportunities for job boards and recruiters - their input and guidance was instrumental in the whole re-launch process; relying on their support team at Adicio, which provided outstanding support throughout the process; leveraging Adicio’s SEO features, including their browse pages and automated link references to create spider food; and utilising Adicio’s strong core product while maximising the Adicio platform’s inherently flexible qualities.

“Working with our Adicio partners, along with the experts at Enhance Media, enabled my colleagues within the IET to build an optimised, clearly branded, easily usable job board around the Adicio platform, that is designed to meet the challenges of an increasingly competitive market,” said Andrew Dingley, the IET’s Recruitment Media Manager. “This will, in the end, assist immensely in achieving our primary goal – significant ROI.”

Job seekers on Engineering & Technology Jobs can search by engineering genre (such as electrical, power or mechanical) or browse by custom job categories, including Aerospace, rail, transport; Biotechnology; Building services & construction; Commercial & business roles; Communications; Computing; Consultancy; Control & instrumentation; Defence; Design; Education; Electrical; Electronics; Information technology; Maintenance & installation; Management; Manufacturing/process industry; Mechanical; Oil, gas, utilities; Power generation; Project; Software; Student & graduate opportunities; and Systems.

“The Engineering & Technology Jobs site will be one of our European showpieces for exemplary design,” says Bridget Scanlan, European Product Manager at Adicio. “The IET utilised the flexible design options on the Adicio Careers platform creating a custom navigation, applying style overrides to create their own brand, and leveraging UK localisation settings for their market space, to create a dynamic site that’s easy to navigate through.”

“Our extensive search-engine knowledge, online research and candidate understanding fit perfectly into this project,” said Giles Guest, Director, Enhance Media, about their role in the project. “We were delighted to help the IET realise the full commercial potential of their job board.”
