A specialist from a leading Scottish HR and employment law company will join an expert panel during the first Business Women Scotland Live event in Aberdeen, which is taking place in May.
Elaine Masson, head of workplace mediation and development at Empire, which has offices in Aberdeen, Glasgow and Inverness, will join fellow business experts at the event on Thursday 14 May at the city’s Chester Hotel.
Elaine, who has more than 20 years’ experience in employment law and HR issues, specialises in workplace mediation, helping employers and employees to work together to avoid tribunals by overcoming disagreements and personality conflicts.
At the event, Elaine will address a range of employment issues from recruitment to retirement, including new parental leave rules and redundancy.
Steve Cook, CEO for Empire, said: “Elaine is an ideal candidate for the expert panel at Business Women Scotland’s live event. She has a great deal of experience in handling HR matters across different industries, helping small companies up to global firms. Elaine will be able to answer any HR query, so I advise delegates to take advantage of the opportunity.”
Elaine added: “I am looking forward to meeting business women from across Aberdeen. Employers face a range of issues and I will offer advice which will allow people to focus on advancing their businesses.”
Lynne Kennedy, managing director of Business Women Scotland Magazine said: “For companies large and small, workforce welfare is important. If your staff are happy in their job they will work better for you, so Empire’s advice on how employers can make this happen will be invaluable for a successful business. And with so many women starting and growing their own businesses, advice from an HR specialist is important to understand what issues you may face when employing staff, and to ensure you do this correctly.”
