CareerSite To Power Online Recruitment For All McClatchy Newspapers

.<br><br>

CareerSite (www.careersite.com) will power the online recruitment solution for all McClatchy Company newspapers (www.mcclatchy.com), the companies have announced. The agreement includes 11 daily and 13 community newspapers such as The (Minneapolis) Star Tribune, The (Raleigh) News & Observer, and The Sacramento Bee. The McClatchy Company, a leading, Pulitzer Prize winning publisher, will offer employment advertisers a one-stop e-recruiting tool and provide job seekers a confidential career service that focuses on local employers within a national recruitment network.
Using CareerSite, a major, national provider of online recruitment solutions, McClatchy newspapers'' employment advertisers will enjoy a variety of ways to reach local and national job seekers including: online job postings, a searchable candidate database and employer profiles. This easy-to-use, browser-based tool streamlines the entire e-recruiting process, from posting a job online to tracking and viewing rsums. By entering a password protected, confidential profile that does not contain any identifiable information, job seekers can market themselves anonymously to employers while maintaining complete control over identity disclosure.
To ensure that job seekers receive all relevant matching positions, CareerSite''s SmartMatch(tm), a proprietary technology, searches for jobs using both concepts and keywords. Candidates also receive additional job searching tools including: automatic e-mail notification of job matches based on registered preferences, online rsum storage, cover letter submissions, the ability to search and apply for jobs, rsum enhancement services, and a personality analysis which may be included with any rsum application.
McClatchy selected CareerSite because, we evaluated online recruitment solutions, including maintaining our own Work Avenue application, and decided CareerSite''s platform and business model provided the best combination of technology and network features, said Christian A. Hendricks, McClatchy''s Vice President, Interactive Media. CareerSite''s software gives us flexibility to build unique local recruitment sites with individual business models, and at the same time, participate in regional and national networks, he said.
Three of our newspaper companies have already launched recruitment sites on CareerSite. Our advertisers like the service, and the newspapers gave me positive reports about the launch process and strong customer service, said Hendricks.
