Around 52 percent of Australian households are connected to the Internet, according to a new study from the National Office for the Information Economy (NOIE).
This compares to 35 percent of Australians who access the net from their workplace.
The report also indicates that around 67 percent of households in Australia either own or lease a PC.
According to the report, Australia is ranked third in the world in terms of Internet infrastructure, penetration, and use, just behind the United States and Sweden.
However, Australia does less well when it comes to broadband, with just 5 percent of Australians accessing the Internet via a high-speed connection.
