The company, whose headquarters are in Tiptree near Colchester, is celebrating profits of 12.8 m on a turnover of 15.9m which puts it at 58th position in the Sunday Times PricewaterhouseCoopers Profit Track 100 league table, which ranks the UKís top 100 unquoted companies by profit growth.
Collectively the hundred companies increased profits by 637 m from 336m to almost 1 billion in their latest three financial years. Between them they created over 34,400 new jobs in the UK and employed more than 72,500 staff in their latest financial year.
For Robbie Cowling, the founder and owner of Jobserve, itís yet further recognition of his determination to make a huge success of the service he first dreamed of back in 1993 when, as an IT contractor himself, he thought there had to be a better and easier way for people to find their next job or contracting opportunity. It also comes at a time when the firm - the first in the world to send out CVs via email - faces intense competition from those anxious to imitate the Jobserve success story. With 15.4 million monthly page impressions and 2.7 million visitors every month, itís no wonder!
Itís the third year running that Jobserve has appeared on the Profit Track list, making the firm one of only 12 companies in the UK to have made the list every year since it was launched. Jobserve is also the only firm to have appeared in every one of the Sunday Times Profit, Tech and Fast Track listings, which feature the most profitable, fastest growing and successful companies.
The company, which posts some 35,000 vacancies a week on its seven specialist sites at www.jobserve.com, has seen its profits grow on average 36% from 4.8m in 1998 to 12.1m in 2001.
Robbie Cowling and his team, whose headquarters are at Tower Business Park in Kelvedon Road, Tiptree, are delighted at yet further recognition of the Jobserve success story. He said: ìThere is no doubt at all that the last 12 months have been among the most challenging for Jobserve, but with a fantastic team behind me, we have risen to that challenge, continuing to be the best at what we do, looking at ways of constantly improving the service
we offer and continuing to be a success story for Essex and the UK.î
