Manpower appoints HR director for EMEA

.

Manpower today announced the appointment of Daniel Kasmir to the newly created position of human resources director for EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa*). Kasmir will remain a non-executive director at Manpower UK and will report directly to Yoav Michaely, managing director of Manpower Inc. EMEA.

EMEA is one of Manpower's most important regions, covering 18 markets. It delivers sales of over $3.2 billion and is the home of many of the company's most innovative HR products and services. The main purpose of the new role
is to ensure a consistent approach to HR across the region - ensuring best practice is followed in every market and generating efficiencies for countries and the region as a whole.

Kasmir will work closely with recently appointed Robert Lincoln, Senior Vice President, Global Human Resources, to develop strategies of HR best practice and equip country managers with the tools to deliver these. These two
appointments reinforce the importance that Manpower places on human resources as a key component of effective business strategy.

He will also be responsible for Manpower's relationships with international organisations, such as the ILO (International Labour Organisation) and CIETT
(International Confederation of Temporary Work Businesses), as well as the company's key link to the European Union and legislative developments, affecting the business in the region.

Commenting on the new job, Kasmir said: This is a huge challenge, which I am delighted to accept. Harmonising HR best practice across 18 very different markets will make an enormous impact on our performance as a region and the quality of the service we provide our clients and staff.

Yoav Michael, managing director for Manpower EMEA said: I am delighted to have Daniel on the EMEA team. He has lots of energy and is a great source of ideas. We look forward to working with him. People are the very core of our business and this strategic role plays an important part in the overall growth of the company on a regional and global level.

Kasmir, 33, joined Manpower UK in March 2000 as human resources director and has driven a high level of change, helping to prepare for better business performance throughout the company. He developed new designs for salary
structures, benefits and pension schemes. Kasmir also introduced internal communications strategies and led the production of the award winning monthly staff magazine, Pwr.

Kasmir is a graduate of the London School of Economics and spent seven years in human resources management with Shell prior to joining Manpower. While at Shell, he pioneered an Intranet system for human resources tools, appraisal
systems and introduced them throughout Shell. He is a regular contributor to the media and conferences on people management.
