Online job bank for homless

.

A stable job is one of the best ways to prevent homelessness, which affects an estimated 400,000 people living in temporary accommodation, as well as the 500 people who sleep rough throughout the UK on any given night.

Ready for Jobs is initially being launched in London, where homeless people will be able to access the site (www.readyforjobs.com) at over 50 day centres, hostels, shelters and training/employment centres that have online Internet access for their homeless clients. Centrepoint Streets Ahead, based in the West End, offers a unique job brokerage service to all homeless people applying for jobs via the website, helping with, for example, CV and interview preparation. The aim is to increase the number of companies participating in the job bank to at least 100 within Greater London. Created through a partnership between the recruitment group Reed, Centrepoint and Business in the Community, it provides companies and their staff with a practical way of engaging in the homelessness issue.
