Red Message targets recruitment agencies

to offer mobile service to jobseekers

Red Message, the wireless service provider, announced a campaign to approach recruitment consultancies with their specific range of mobile solutions to improve services offered to jobseekers. Red Messageís mobile offerings are based on text message technology, can be received by over 646.5 million phones today worldwide and are available to anyone regardless of network operator or model of mobile phone. Red Messageís mobile recruitment applications include alerts to candidates of new job opportunities, time sheets and confirmation of pay transfer to bank accounts all by text message.

Reed Recruitment was one of the first UK businesses to recognise the benefit text messaging has to offer, back in September 1999. Reed allows candidates to enter their job preference details online, when new jobs come in that match their search criteria. Reed sends alerts to candidates by text message through Red Message.

For example, a text might be sent saying, ìmarketing manager, central London, 30,000, IT co. Call 0207 712 2345 for more info.î

On receiving such a text, should the candidate be interested he can call the listed number by pressing ëyesí on his mobile and will be directly connected to the correct consultant to talk the job through further.

Over the past 18 months Reed acknowledges this service reduces call costs and staff time in contacting candidates. It also acts as a highly efficient service of informing the correct people when suitable jobs come in.

This application can be developed further for temp agencies that may want to use text messaging each morning when jobs become available to find a temp for immediate placement.

For example, the first temp to respond to the text could get the dayís placement. Paper timesheets could also become a thing of the past where temps could text in the hours they have done each week, confirmed by a security code issued by their manager for that week.

Finally text messaging could also be used as a method to confirm payment into tempsí bank accounts each week.

ìAll such services are easy to implement, and are simple ways to improve service levels and reduce call costs and staff time in carrying out these essential duties,î says Pieter Duijst, CEO of Red Message.
