Commercial Services Group has launched UKTeach, a teacher recruitment platform designed to help schools manage hiring as staffing and budget pressures continue.
Research commissioned by the group found that 71% of secondary school leaders considered teacher recruitment difficult. Across school leaders surveyed, 29% lacked confidence in their ability to recruit and retain staff.

UKTeach brings together vacancy advertising, applicant tracking and employment checks, including DBS checks. Gill Nye, managing director of HR Connect, said the platform was developed by a team familiar with teacher recruitment and aimed to reduce administration and costs.
The research also found that 87% of school leaders had reduced spending, rising to 95% among secondary leaders. The findings point to recruitment challenges taking place alongside wider financial constraints.
For schools, the platform’s proposition is an end-to-end process that makes it easier to manage applicants and the checks required before appointments. Its launch adds another specialist tool to the education recruitment market.
The research was conducted by Sensu in April 2026 among 500 education leaders and 500 parents in England. The recruitment and spending figures reported here relate to education leaders.
