Coronavirus epidemic: Zoho has just launched a full virtual collaboration platform to aid company operations

As the new coronavirus spreads, more companies are asking people to work from home. This can be difficult as technology doesn’t always work around and employees sometimes lack the right equipment. However, for many people, a period of remote work is looking increasingly inevitable.

Zoho has just launched Remotely, a full virtual collaboration platform which can help companies continue to operate during the Coronavirus epidemic. The platform will be available free until 1st July 2020, whereupon Zoho will review the situation and an extension will be considered.

The platform consists of a suite of eleven applications that are designed to enable businesses to operate efficiently, despite business disruption around the Coronavirus crisis.

Zoho Remotely provides the contextual workplace conducive to maintaining productivity in distributed workforce. These integrated collaboration and productivity tools ensure business continuity, while allowing the teams to work closely in remote environment, thereby preserving the company culture

The eleven apps within Remotely fall into categories of: Communication (Cliq, Meeting, Showtime), Collaboration (WorkDrive, Projects, Sprints), Remote Assistance (Assist and Lens, which is coming to Europe this week); and Productivity (Writer, Sheet, Show)

Example of a scenario for a construction site:

  • You can create a project, add relevant people including employees, external contractors, designers etc. [Use Zoho Projects]
  • Assign milestones, tasks, reminders and more and schedule weekly meetings between various parties to ensure timeliness [using Zoho Projects & Meeting]
  • Continue the collaborative discussion regarding the project through ad-hoc remote communication across communication channels - chat or audio/video calls [using Cliq]
  • Create, discuss and share construction documents with the entire team [through Writer/Sheet/Show and WorkDrive]
  • Collaborate with people on the field with on-site suggestions [using Lens]
