Reuters reports that Internet penetration in Greece should reach 12 percent by the end of this year, up from 10 percent in the first half of the year.
This is according to research from VPRC, which was conducted for the National Research and Technology Network.
Growth in the number of Greek Internet users is expected to be 60 percent this year, up from 33 percent last year. If this growth rate persists, Internet penetration in Greece could reach 50 percent by 2004.
Of those who have not personally subscribed to Internet access, 20 percent said it is too expensive, while 30 percent said they have access at work or in school.
