Dutch unemployment amounted to 2.0 percent of the working population during the three months from November to January, down from 2.6% over the same period one year earlier, the Central Bureau for Satistics said.
From November 2001 to January 2002, an average 146,000 people were recorded as unemployed, 41,000 fewer than 12 months earlier but 11,000 more than during the three months from October to December 2001, CBS said.
The Netherlands has the lowest unemployment rate within the 12-nation euro zone, according to figures released January 4 by the European Union statistical agency Eurostat.
