Independant and Eteach

.

The Independent newspaper and Eteach UK have joined forces to challenge the long standing stranglehold over the way schools advertise their teaching vacancies, which is increasingly seen as both expensive, time consuming and ineffective. Thanks to this unique fusion of media, schools can benefit from unlimited print and online recruitment advertising for a year - for the cost of a single advertisement in the traditional press.

Thanks to the new partnership, every vacancy that appears on Eteach.comís website will also appear for no extra charge in the Independentís Education Supplement, which is published on Thursdays. Moreover, every job in the new listings will appear until the closing date of the vacancy, rather than just once, as with existing print advertising. The initiative offers schools a fast, efficient and cost effective way to find the staff they need.

Eteachís managing director Chris Stevens commented: ìThis relationship will revolutionise the way schools approach advertising their vacancies; it offers them free listings in the national press, for as long as it takes to find the right teacher, and for a fraction of what it cost in the past. It means that cash-strapped schools can use their budgets where theyíre needed.î The service is also available to Local Education Authorities.

Lawrie Proctor, commercial director at The Independent, said: ìThe Independent is delighted to be launching this exciting new partnership with Eteach. Our relationship represents a giant leap forward in tackling the national shortage of teachers, and at the same time providing excellent value for money for schools and LEAs. Every Thursday in The Independent, professional teachers, newly qualified teachers, and those interested in starting a career in teaching can be assured that they will get stimulating editorial and the reassurance that they are going to see almost every teaching vacancy in the country.î
