Most jobseekers stay faithful to one website

Online monogomy

A new study from Jupiter Media Metrix indicates that the majority of online jobseekers in the US prefer to use just one career website.

According to Jupiter, around 76 percent of the 13.5 million adult users who visited the top 10 standalone career websites in December 2001, logged on to just one site.

Nearly 15 percent of online jobseekers visited two career sites, while only 7 percent visited three or more.

Among the top 10 career domains, the largest also have the highest composition of exclusive users.

Around 67 percent of visitors to the leading recruitment site, Hotjobs.com, did not use a competing site.

Approximately 58 percent of visitors to the second most popular recruitment site, Monster, also did not use another website.

The main visitors to online recruitment sites are those who work in the transportation, information systems and consulting industries.

Hospitality, non-profit and publishing industries are the industries that are under represented on career websites.
