Stigma of being unemployed has faded for executives

Recognising potential, not empleyment status

A recent survey of 385 American recruiters conducted by ExecuNet.com, an online career services center for executives, reveals that recruiters and employers are focusing less on the employment status of applicants.

According to the survey, only 9% of recruiters feel that the stigma of being unemployed is as strong as it was 5 years ago, 25% believe unemployed status is not a significant factor in the current market, and 66% report that being unemployed is a negative factor, but it''s no longer the stigma it was in the past.
