*Fully-configurable ''Web Recruitment'' and powerful ''Team Management'' functionality now available*

Midland HR & Payroll Solutions has launched Release 5 of its market-leading software, Trent. The new version has further enhanced its position in the market with fully-configurable web recruitment and new team management functionality.

The new team management functionality supports all forms of cross-functional grouping, from dotted-line reports which record committee members to full project teams and matrix organisations. The highly flexible structure design allows different types of teams to be defined and for employees to belong to several teams at any time, with different participation levels. Full team membership history is retained so a full career history can be seen for any employee.

Project team leaders can now easily and effectively manage all the people reporting to them through Trent''s intuitive Manager Self-service module allowing them to share employee development and other tasks with the employee''s direct manager.

Modern organisations incorporate team working as an integral part of daily life, whether as committees or steering groups to the larger project teams. For some employees team work is a major part of their career history and personal development plan.

As Lawrence Knowles, Managing Director of Midland, says: The problem with other HR systems in the market place is you can only view employment relationships in terms of the organisational structure. This is no longer good enough. HR departments need to see the various roles employees have within the organisation independent of structure and Trent makes this possible.

The new version also features fully-configurable web recruitment. Put simply, this is a highly versatile way for managers to create on-line job application forms through Trent. Every application form can be tailored as required - content, style, colours, logos and even the attachment of any relevant documents.

The new capabilities exploit the widespread use of the web to allow companies to reach a much wider pool of talent. Once an application has been submitted, a more streamlined workflow means that the relevant line manager is notified instantly, so that anyone using Trent can recruit the best talent as soon as it is available.

As well as these groundbreaking examples of innovative, new functionality, the look and feel of the Trent Self-service modules has been updated with a refreshing new look.

Other enhancements include a new payslip design, new leaver processing and new employee transfer functionality.

Midland believes it has made a winning product even more effective. Lawrence Knowles says: With the new team management functionality and the highly-versatile web recruitment, we have once again taken a major step forward with Trent.

As the HR and payroll market place continues to demand more from software, Midland is proving once again that it is able to respond with innovative market-driven functionality that further strengthens Trent''s advantage in the HR marketplace.
