Caterer.com breaks 100,000 online applications barrier

Caterer.com has broken the 100,000 online applications barrier in 2003, beating the target set for the year in just six months.

Online applications through the site are now running at around 18,000 a month, compared with less than 3,000 a month a year ago. In addition, research suggests that a further 18,000 application a month go directly to recruiters.

June was a record-breaking month in a number of other ways too:

unique users reached 112,267, compared with 36,259 a year ago

user sessions were a record 208,929

there were 593,809 job searches

email subscribers: another record high at 90,989, compared with 40,661 a year ago

around 2 million emails were sent out in June, more than any previous month

the average number of vacancies on the site in June was just over 6,000. Our nearest competitor had less than 2,500.

We are now positioned well for the remaining half of 2003, with new recruitment contracts coming in every week and our market share of jobs and job seeker audience also on the increase, said Caterer.com Head of Marketing Michael Robinson. We are by far the biggest marketplace for online recruitment in the hotel, restaurant and bar sectors. Research completed recently supports this - job seekers gave the site top marks in all areas, but particularly for the ease of the job application process.
