Convention showcase employers voice in the fight for skills

Conclusive proof that Skills Pay will be revealed at a two-day Skills Convention at the Victoria Park Plaza hotel in London today and tomorrow.

Attended by a range of employers, Sector Skills Councils and decision-makers, the 15th

and 16th November event will showcase the differences that the new employer-led Sector Skills Councils are making to the development of skills in the UK.

Key government figures in the field of education, including Secretary of State, Charles Clarke and Skills Minister Ivan Lewis will be speaking at the event, alongside employers from all sectors of the economy, who will talk about how the UK’s education and training system works - or in some cases, doesn’t work - for them.

Topics being discussed include Apprenticeships, Foundation Degrees, Honours Degrees, Management and Leadership skills and vocational qualifications.

The event commences at 4pm today at the Victoria Park Plaza hotel, Vauxhall Bridge Road, London SW1V 1EQ. Charles Clarke is expected to arrive at 6:15pm to meet employers at an informal reception.

The event continues at 9:30am tomorrow, with Ivan Lewis speaking at this time before workshop sessions exploring the issues raised the previous day.

You are cordially invited to attend.
