Dublin workers unhappy with career path to date

Whilst 58% of Dublin workers are keeping their eye out for a new position, 21% are hesitant about moving jobs because of the current political and economic situation with a further 20% admitting they are stuck in a comfort zone. Only 8% of the respondents are exactly where they want to be in their career through active career management, with a further 11% admitting their career success is more through luck than design. 22% believe they are on the right track however, the majority (59%) do not think their career has developed in the way they would have wished.

Interestingly, 39% of the Dublin respondents would network more with senior management in their next job, whilst 22% would socialise more as a way of climbing the corporate ladder. 20% would steer clear of office politics and 19% would voice their opinions more forcefully.

Dublin workers were asked what was most important to them in their next career move - 37% opted for promotion prospects, 35% for work life balance and 27% for an increase in salary. However, only half the respondents felt that Dublin was the best City in which to continue developing their career.
