Job Shop user Rescon short-listed for Golden Spider
online recruitment award

First Choice Software client, Rescon, a recruitment agency for the IT permanent, contract and professional areas, was recently nominated for the Golden Spider best online recruitment award - Irelands most prestigious and longest running internet awards competition. First Choice, suppliers of RDB Pro and Job Shop specialist recruitment software provided a tailored website for Rescon that allows jobs to be instantly published onto the site, with candidates able to register and apply to vacancies online quickly and easily.

Competing against larger online recruitment companies, Rescon was judged against criteria such as the ability to deliver the latest jobs, commitment to providing value added content and communication with users and dynamism.

Having established an excellent reputation in the industry, with many Irish firms using the package, First Choice Software was the obvious supplier of the web based recruitment package for Rescon.

Resconís Stephen OíKelly explains how the process works: ìJob Shop was simply added to our website, and the First Choice web design team tailored the application to suit the corporate colour scheme. Basically, we took the shopping basket type option where people can apply for three to four jobs in one go. Each job has a different consultant attached to it, so when a candidate applies for a job an email with the CV attached is automatically sent to the consultant, who then contacts the candidate to begin the process.

Describing the benefits of Job Shop, Stephen continues: ìEase of use is our main criteria ñ people donít want to mess around, they want a quick job search, apply for them and go away. And this is exactly what job shop allows. The sorting feature is great as it allows us and candidates to sort by job, job id, job description and salary.î

Job Shop has also solved the problem of posting jobs onto the website in a good format. Stephen adds: ìNow we are able to instantly update the website two or three times a day at the click of a button. Plus, the helpdesk is very responsive, so if we were to experience any problems, First Choice is there to help.î
