KPMG wins The Sunday Times Best Big Companies to Work For for the third time

KPMG topped The Sunday Times Best Big Companies to Work For list, it was announced at the awards ceremony on 26 February

KPMG topped The Sunday Times Best Big Companies to Work For list, it was announced at the awards ceremony on 26 February. The professional service firm also received Life Achievement award for leading the list for the third time in four years. Beaverbrooks the Jewellers topped the Best Mid Companies to Work For list and national debt counselling charity Christians Against Poverty led the Best Small Companies to Work For list. Other winners include Accenture in the training and development category and Morgan Stanley in the leadership category.

Despite general anxiety about the state of the economy and its impact on jobs, the 2009 awards saw the largest number of entrants ever. This year, 997 organisations entered The Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For lists. This is a 14.4 per cent increase from the number of organisations entering last year.

This year Best Companies Special Awards were given to companies that stand out in the following key areas: Best Leadership, Best for Work and Home Balance, Best for Training and Development, Best for Giving Something Back, Best for Wellbeing, Best for Engaging with Schools and Best Improver.

The Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For awards ceremony was held in Londonís Battersea Evolution arena on Wednesday 25 and Thursday 26 February.
