An Aberdeen-based recruitment consultancy has started 2014 with a new name following changes at its parent company.
As of 01 January, energy recruitment specialist Inter-Services rebranded to become Redwave (Aberdeen) Limited. The change of name brings it in line with its Dutch parent firm RedWave, which until August 2013 was known as USG Energy.
The Aberdeen office will now have greater access to marketing and sales opportunities, helping to strengthen its pan-European recruitment offering. In turn, Redwave (Aberdeen) Limited will provide a greater support network to its UK-based clients who operate throughout Europe. Forging closer ties will also aid the two firms’ international expansion plans.
Based on Thistle Street, the firm was established in 1990 to supply offshore personnel to the oil and gas industry. More recently the firm expanded into recruiting for the growing renewable energy sector and last year launched a new division, Medi Support, focused on providing medical care onboard offshore installations. Medi Support provides offshore medics and sickbay management services to the offshore energy industry.
Director of Redwave (Aberdeen) Limited Jacqueline van den Akker said: “Inter-Services had been operating for over 20 years, so the decision to rebrand was not taken lightly. Adopting the Redwave name ensures that we have closer collaboration with our colleagues in Europe and can ultimately provide our clients with an expanded service.
“Business has grown consistently since 1990 and we anticipate further growth in the coming year as significant investment continues in the oil and gas industry. The creation of the Medi Support division offers many opportunities for us, particularly as the health and fitness of offshore employees continues to be an important issue. Offshore medic roles provide a good opportunity for former military medics to start a career in the offshore industry, something we’ll be highlighting later this month at the Armed Forces Employment Fair.”
Established in 1990 as Inter-Services, Redwave (Aberdeen) Limited is an Aberdeen-based recruitment consultancy that specialises in the oil and gas and energy sectors.
