Oriel, the recruitment outsourcing business, has changed its brand identity to Outsauce.
The company, which provides financing, back office support, accounting and contracting services for recruitment agencies and contractors, has operated from its head office in Cheltenham since 2000.
Taken over in January by private equity business, Energize Capital, Oriel installed Miles Lloyd, experienced senior recruitment agency executive and non-exec director of The Recruitment Society, as CEO the same month.
Since then the business has undergone a period of restructuring and significant growth, with the opening of a second office in Manchester and a series of new client wins.
The rebrand to Outsauce is the next step in defining the new direction for the business, says Miles Lloyd:
“Under Oriel we were operating in semi-silos as separate businesses for funding, accounting and contractor support; but it’s our ‘join the dots’ proposition and our ability to provide all of these services that makes us unique. We are there for our agency partners at every stage of growth and some of our long-standing customer relationships are testament to this longer-term collaborative approach.
“The rebrand reflects the fresh and dynamic nature of the business, but it retains the essence of what made Oriel so great; our fantastic people, our industry experience and our resourceful nature.
“There is an element of ‘been there, done that’ within the team – many of us are battle-hardened recruiters from the past, so we’re in a great position to understand the needs and challenges that agencies face. We also understand the fluctuating nature of the recruitment business, so we’re perhaps more inclined than some to offer the agile decision making the industry requires.
“Now though, it’s about capitalising on the growth we’ve experienced this year and taking Outsauce to the next level. We’ve spent 12 months nurturing the business that we have and deciding where to take it and we’re very excited about the opportunities and conversations we’re already having.”
Aside from considering the structure of the business, the Outsauce board has spent time making strategic recruitment decisions of its own this year, to develop the strong team it needs to see it into the next stage of growth.
This team now includes ex-Pay Matters and Brookson duo, Andrew Webster and Paul Crossley, who have joined Outsauce to drive growth of the company’s contracting business and accounting service for sole traders and one man limited companies (PSCs). With a new Best Advice Matrix designed to provide contractors with all of the necessary information to make the most appropriate and compliant decision on their employment status, Outsauce can then provide umbrella or accountancy support to help them maximise their take home pay and keep on top of their HMRC obligations.
Miles Lloyd said: “The employment of temporary workers and individuals operating as limited companies has of course been the topic of much debate recently. It is unfortunate that unscrupulous operators have been grabbing the headlines, but it is our belief that compliant employment solutions are hugely beneficial to the UK economy.
“Our aim is for Outsauce to become a benchmark for trust and diligence throughout the supply chain – from end hirer through to contractor.”
