Penna Recruitment Solutions has announced the appointment of Tristan Moakes as their new Head of Digital & Social. In his new position, Tristan will be responsible for bringing together the technology and strategy sides of Penna’s digital offering and fostering a collaborative approach to digital thinking across the recruitment business. Recent notable Penna digital projects include the award winning KPMG “80 Days: Race the World" challenge, and the careers website for John Lewis Partnership.

Tristan has worked in the recruitment industry for eight years in a variety of digital roles from project management to strategy. Originally working as web developer he moved to the recruitment communications industry in 2006, starting at Work as a Digital Project Manager overseeing development of client websites including award-winning work for ASDA.

He moved on to TMP in 2010, with a change of focus, spending two years in the Strategy team delivering web user experience and social strategies. In 2012 he returned to Work and has spent the past two years running the Digital and Creative team where the focus has very much been on fostering a more collaborative approach to the two functions.

Along the way he’s managed two stints on the RADs judging panel and worked with a wide range of clients including, Clifford Chance, Topshop, J.P. Morgan, Telefonica, HSBC, ASDA and Bombardier.

Pete Rice, Head of Brand for Recruitment Solutions at Penna commented: ‘We are delighted to have Tristan on board. His vast knowledge and experience will be extremely beneficial to Penna in the future and we look forward to seeing him thrive here. We are fast growing our reputation for creative recruitment solutions and building our capacity in this area is key to our further growth.

Tristan commented: ‘The thing that excites me most about Penna is the ambition they’ve got for the creative and digital capability. There are already great things going on, but clearly there’s a desire to be even better. Pete joined last year as Head of Brand, and it’s an exciting prospect to join up with him on this.

‘There’s a great team in place, but we’re looking to grow it as well. I’ll be working closely with quite a few different functions looking at ways in which technology, and particularly data & analytics can play a bigger role in recruitment solutions."
