Matthew Iveson, the Managing Director of CV Screen, reflected on the journey: “Over the last 25 years, we’ve had 31 fantastic people contributing to CV Screen’s success, with an average tenure of over 7 years, that’s been the one thing that I’m most proud of.”
He continued, “I was 23 when we started, and my view was that we’d give it a try for a year and see how things go; I was young enough to get another role if things didn’t work out!”
The company, which has divisions focusing on Tech, Finance and Marketing, has recruited for over 2,000 companies across the UK.
Iveson explained how the company has evolved: “We started as two chaps in a garage focusing on IT recruitment, but swiftly realised that we’d need to diversify – within 18 months, we had moved to offices in High Wycombe due to expansion.”
We have recruited mainly in the SME space, but along the way, we have recruited for household names such as the University of Oxford, Red Bull, NHS Hertfordshire, and one of the most recent placements was with Watford Football Club. Iveson continued, “As a lifelong Watford supporter, I think it was the most determined I’ve ever been to find the right candidate for the role!”
In 2019, CV Screen introduced a new incentive which saw £50 donated to a Charity of the employers’ choice when a CV Screen candidate successfully starts with them. Iveson explains, “One of our core values is being Charitable, and this incentive has seen us donate over £30,000 to fantastic causes. To mark our quarter-century, we’ll be doubling this to £100 in 2025, with a goal to raise over £10,000 this year.”
Looking forward, Iveson concluded, “CV Screen has a reputation for providing a fantastic ethical service with over 60% of our business with organisations with whom we have previously worked. We build excellent relationships not just with candidates and clients, but internally too and we believe that will enable us to flourish in 2025 and beyond.”
