The government estimates that the digital sector alone was worth an estimated £105 billion in gross value added to the UK in 2011* and in the last 4 years, the industry has continued to evolve. To complement the growing demand for skilled digital gurus, QA Apprenticeships roll out their 12-14 month Digital Marketing Programme in Scotland, following the success of the scheme in England.

Studies show that 75% of 16-24 year olds claim they could not live without the internet and that they feel empowered by the level of information it offers them**. As such, businesses are now looking to these digital natives to nurture the expertise they can offer in response to the growing need to diversify into online platforms.

QA Apprenticeships’ programme teaches and refines skills in SEO and PPC, design, online advertising, email marketing social media and image and video editing, to better prepare the next generation in applying these vital skills to the future of business. Young talent will receive a Diploma in Digital Marketing SCQF6, as well as progression to Diploma in Digital Marketing SCQF8, both of which enable a robust foundation of knowledge, theory and skill to apply to the working world.

Providing full support for young talent, including training and preparation for a future career, QA’s Digital Marketing programme also promises a level of financial independence, with remuneration ranging from £8,000-£13,000+. A staggering 94% of QA apprentices go into permanent roles following the completion of their programmes, with potential job roles including digital marketing assistant, social media assistant, digital account assistant and online marketing assistant. The programme was initially launched in the past year in the UK, to high praise from businesses and apprentices alike.

Ben Pike, Director of QA Apprenticeships says about the new programmeThe digital landscape is changing. Companies are now investing in their online identity and it is imperative that the next generation adapt to the changes in industry. They too need to invest in vital skills that will set them apart when it comes to employment. Marketing is no longer only applicable to the tangible reality and as such, businesses are looking for fresh talent who can translate their key messages into innovative new streams.”
