The company was recognised for it’s “Moments to be Proud of” campaign with Vodafone UK which showcased apprentices during key stages of their Vodafone journey across social media to encourage more to choose this career route with the company.
The company initially approached Alexander Mann Solutions to support the attraction of 60 new apprentices for its UK base and up to 30 for Vodafone Group. One of the key objectives for the business in this campaign was to dispel preconceptions that the firm is just a mobile network provider and speak to a new type of audience to support the developments in its cutting-edge technological innovation. With diversity another key goal, it was also crucial that all activity appealed to both female and male candidates alike.
The result of the innovative social media campaign was almost 6,000 applications for numerous network, digital and technology apprenticeships, with 31 hires already made ahead of schedule. The campaign also saw a 140% year-on-year increase in female applications – a key success for the company’s diversity goals.
Sondra Dryer, Global Head of Employer Brand & Experience at Alexander Mann Solutions, commented:
“Being shortlisted for this prestigious award is testament to the fantastic work we deliver to our clients and candidates. The apprenticeship campaign with Vodafone has been incredibly well-received and has enabled us to showcase our creative and media expertise and the use of innovative technology to attract new talent to the company.”
Lucy Howorth - Youth EVP, Attraction and Resourcing Manager at Vodafone added:
“At a time when there’s a global shortage of tech talent, encouraging more people into apprenticeships like these is a crucial step to safeguarding the future of digital innovation. The challenge we had to overcome was that many potential applicants saw Vodafone as just a mobile network provider – but there’s so much more to our business than that. The “Moments to be Proud of” campaign has been a great success so far and we’re looking forward to welcoming even more exceptional talent into the business.”
