ExecuNet, a career management and recruiting resource center for executives and recruiters, has released its Executive Job Index (EJI) data through May 30, 2003. Calculated biweekly since 1997, the EJI measures hiring trends in the executive employment market. The Index is at 186.3 (1997=100), down from 196 at the end of April.
Growth in the executive employment market typically levels in the second quarter, says Mark Anderson, President of ExecuNet. This year, the seasonal undertone remains positive, which suggests the executive employment market is poised for growth in the second half of the year.
There was above average demand for Human Resources, MIS/IT, Finance, and Consulting executives in May. Demand for Sales/Marketing and General Management executives trailed the average during the month.
