CollegeGrad.com creates TopjobSites.com

.

The TopjobSites.com website was created by Nigel Robjohns, using research from Brian Krueger, the CEO of CollegeGrad.com, and provides a very important service to the job seeking public and the employing companies. Their mission is to make the web job search experience more productive by reviewing and ranking the top job sites in advance for you. This is so that the user can focus their time and energy with only those sites that will work for them and I personally agree.

The ranking is done using Alexa ratings. This is a three month trend ranking that takes into account both the number of users per million and overall number of pages accessed. You may think to yourself that surely that means that any site could cheat their way into the top ten by offering money for going to the site or advertising it as something else, but they exclude any site that in their opinion has attempted to artificially inflate the Alexa rating, which can most often be seen by an extreme increase in traffic in a short period of time.

There are six categories. These are General Job Sites, College Sites, Executive Sites, Niche Sites, Diversity Sites and International Sites (English and Non-English). When spending time on the site I found out who the most popular jobs sites are and what they do in one short, but helpful, paragraph. There are also picture links to the websites, although only for the top three, which made getting to the ranked sites quicker and easier. I also discovered that if onrec.com were to be put into the General Sites, we would be 19th in the world or even 2nd if we were added into the College Sites.

These are the current top three for each category:
