The UK's leading job boards have pledged their ongoing support for the National Online Recruitment Audience Survey (NORAS). The job boards have also committed to working with NORAS organisers Enhance Media in order to continue to develop NORAS into a survey that represents a broad range of online recruitment sites.
Enhance Media has also announced two changes to the way NORAS is conducted:
NORAS will now be published once, rather than twice each year. NORAS was carried out twice in 2002 and the participating sites found that the demographic data had not changed significantly between the first and second waves. Because of this it was decided that it was only necessary to update the data once each year.
All sites participating in future waves of NORAS will have to submit an ABC ELECTRONIC audit and the auditing arrangements will be consistent for generic and specialist sites.
The online recruitment industry''s support for NORAS shows the need to provide advertisers and recruiters with reliable and independent data in order to assist with advertising decisions. The recruitment sector is leading the way in the provision of data for online advertisers and was the first online sector in which competitors cooperated to produce a joint industry research tool for advertisers.
The next wave of NORAS will be carried out from September - November 2003 and the results will be published in January 2004. NORAS organisers Enhance Media will use the next six months to further develop the NORAS methodology in consultation with the recruitment industry and to confirm the participants list for the next wave. Enhance Media estimate that approximately 20 sites will participate in NORAS 2004.
