The latest survey from the UKs leading independent job board, CV-Library, reveals that more than a third (39.9%) of workers know someone that has been unable to return to work due to being required to isolate in the last four days.

The number of job adverts in the UK has remained high and stable since early June, as employers sought to bring on new staff before the final COVID restrictions were lifted.

Despite the end of restrictions and the widespread return to the office in sight, remote job opportunities are still on the rise according to new data from LinkedIn, the world’s largest professional network.

With less than a week to go before the final stage of lockdown restrictions are lifted and as most employees prepare for their return to the office, an exclusive survey by CV-Library, the UK’s leading independent job board, has found that the majority (55.2%) of UK professionals feel anxious about returning to work.

Despite the predictable delay with the lifting of all lockdown restrictions, the very idea of returning to normal in the foreseeable future has boosted business in the UK.

A resounding 68.4% of respondents, asked this week, believe that there will be a shortage of workers and 58.1% say they aren’t considering returning when the industry is fully operational.

The data shows that the higher rate of growth in job postings driven by the re-opening of industries that were shut during the pandemic, like the hospitality and leisure sectors, has now levelled off to a steady rate, higher than to the levels we’ve seen before the pandemic began in March 2020.

Data from the Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC) reveals that in the three months to May 2021, business confidence in the UK economy turned positive for the first time since June 2018.
